The City of Elgin is accepting applications for a part time administrative assistant. The position is the first point of contact for the City. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to customer service, updating City website & social media pages, utility billing, assistance with elections, making deposits, reports, attending meetings, and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email. This is a part time, on call position that could turn into more hours. Regular hours will be in the afternoons on regular business days. Some nights may be required. Starting wages depend on qualifications. Minimum qualifications include the following:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Strong customer service and communication skills

Efficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, & Email

Able to update the website and social media pages

Able to work with the public and government officials

Schedule flexibility
